Spring Bible Classes 2018

Live Like You Were Dying – Room 101
The Last Week of the Life of Jesus, taught by Shawn Swilley and David Wittenborn – We will take a look at the final week of the Life of Jesus the Christ. We will study what he chose to do with his final days, what he taught, who he was and how he lived. We will use all 4 Gospels to try to determine the chronology of these events as possible. There will be opportunities to engage with your fellow students both in class and out through online discussions so that our learning can continue throughout the week. We really hope that you will come join us in this study.

The Patriarchs – Room 102
A video class by Beth Moore for women, facilitated by Bonnie Creeger, Gwen Ornelas, and Pam Bogdanovic –  This is a continuation of the class that began in the winter quarter. Discover God’s pursuit of relationship and the unfolding of His earthly plan: how through one nation–and ultimately one man–all people on earth will be blessed. The Patriarchs is a journey through Genesis 12-50. Explore concepts such as blessing, covenant, and promise, and the bearing each has on a New Testament believer’s life today.

Ecclesiastes – Room 103
Taught by David Bryan – We will be learning from one of God’s wisest person, asking the question about what is the most important thing a human can do or be, and how things that are impressive to us could be meaningless. Come learn what is meaningful from Solomon with us.

Why Do We…? Why We Do What We Do – Rooms A/B
The unreflective life is the life unlived. Going to and fro about the day without knowing why one does what one does is such a tragic way to live. Humans are thinking, feeling beings who live not to do but to be. We live for purpose and meaning. Reflection helps life find meaning. The same can be true for churches. The unreflective church is the church unlived. Our class “Why do we” seeks to live into being a reflective church. We will explore ideas and practices important to our church experience but are often taken for granted. This class will be good to help those who are new to our flavor of Christianity understand us better. This class will also be useful to help veteran members process and appreciate our churches beliefs.
