Senior Saints Meet at Parkway Church of Christ
For his message, Brother Dave Grall will be presenting an overview of the Sojourning mission and one of the specific programs called the Listening Lab. The Listening Lab is a 12 hour workshop to help members be more effective in restoring relationships within the congregation. Sojourners are a group of mostly retired Christians who own RV‟s. The name “sojourner” is an ancient, biblical term, being used over 40 times in the Old Testament. Their goal is national evangelism and to serve the Lord by service to His church using RV‟s. Upon request, the Sojourners travel to smaller congregations of the churches of Christ to help them grow spiritually and physically. Conducting Gospel Meetings, Door Knocking, Leadership Training, Painting, Sewing, and Landscaping are just a few of the spiritual and physical works that the Sojourners can provide.
Dave and his wife Charlotte have been members of the Orangevale Church of Christ since 1979. He retired from IBM after a 37 year career in Los Angeles and Sacramento. Dave shares Mission Program planning responsibilities with Jim McPeak as a Deacon at Orangevale. He made five mission trips to India from 1986 – 1995. Dave and Charlotte have been „Sojourning‟ since his retirement in 2006.
Regular emcee, George Smith encourages all seniors over the age of 50 to attend the program and participate in the potluck luncheon at noon. Please remember first time attendees are considered guests and are not expected to bring food for the potluck.
